2008 tour Dates & Studio Updates
2008 Tour Dates Added
Two more dates have been added to the 2008 tour schedule. Be sure
to check the band out Saturday, September 20 at Arena Bar &
Grill (1567 Dupont Road * Fort Wayne, IN) and Saturday October
11 at The Frog in Syracuse, IN (1116 South Harkless Drive * Syracuse,
IN). Arena bar & Grill will be your last chance to see the
band this year before they retreat into the bowls of King James
Studios to finish the new album. The last time we played The Frog
in Syracuse, things were off the hook. If you live in the Syracuse
area and need to blow off some steam, check us out on 10/11. See
the Web sites for details.
New Album Well Under Way
The newest Rosemary Gates album is well under way. On this outing
the band has decided to record an acoustic based album. "My
roots are on the folk side of the spectrum and I have always wanted
to record an acoustic album," stated Christian Schult, vocalist
for the band. "I finally convinced the guys to come on board
with the idea." Adds bassist Bryan "B-Funk" Bankson,
"Although the tunes will primarily be acoustic based, the
album will be much more than just acoustic guitars, drums, and
a vocal. I like to think of it more as an organic sounding album
where we use more earthy tones and beats. Make no mistake; the
production on this album will be on par with our prior releases.
The final product will just be a little different sounding than
our prior releases. The band will be reinterpreting old RG standards,
adding some never before released material from the acoustics
era in '96-'97, in addition to new originals and perhaps a cover.
The band is in the studio now finishing scratch tracks for an
acoustic version of Gnosis (Myth & Judgment) and a brand new
song entitled "Warm" as well as percussion tracks for
the remaining tunes. Percussion is scheduled to be completed this
month, and instrumentation will begin in October. Vocals should
be completed in November. The band plans to be mixing and mastering
the final product in December.
"As with our last album (2006's Myth & Judgment), we
will primarily be recording the new record at our Fort Wayne,
IN, based King James Records," said guitarist Michael Archbold.
"Building our own studio was the best thing we could have
ever done. It has freed us to be creative in the recording process.
In the past, there was not much room for creativity in the studio
because we had budgetary concerns to deal with. With those costs
eliminated, we are able to run through as many ideas as we want
without freaking out about money."
"Although the record will be primarily recorded at King
James, we will be mixing and mastering again with world renowned
Sweetwater Studios in Fort Wayne," said drummer John Tingley.
One can never under estimate the importance of post production
on an album. In many ways, it is as important as or more important
than the recording phase. That process is where an album is brought
to life.
The band has confirmed the following tracks will be heard on
the new album:
Burn (originally heard on Shine 2000)
Gnosis (originally heard on Myth & Judgment 2006)
Home Again (originally heard on Myth & Judgment 2006)
Illuminated (previously unreleased)
My Friends (previously unreleased)
Tank (previously unreleased)
Twist (originally heard on Myth & Judgment 2006)
Warm (Without the Sun) (new original music)
Please check the Web sites early and often for updates and pictures.

Broken Waves Video Release and Gig Schedule!!!
Broken Waves Now on YouTube
The band is proud to announce the official release of the video
for Broken Waves; the first single off Myth & Judgment. The
video was shot in March and the final edit was completed last
week. Guitarist Michael Archbold said, "We have wanted to
cross over into the media for some time, but didn't feel like
we were able to produce a professional enough product to live
up to our standards for quality until recently. A friend (Corey
T. Wilson) and I have recently invested in a digital production
company called Arson Digital. There is nothing like being in control
of your own destiny." Vocalist Christian Schult added, "Most
releases you see from bands on YouTube are from one stationary
cam on a sub-par quality camera. When we produce a project, whether
an album or video, it has to be something that we would sit down
and watch ourselves. If it is just a buddy filming you at a show,
then what is the point?"
The video for Broken Waves is the first in a series of video
releases slated for the band in the coming year. The band is looking
to produce and release a full video presentation of Myth &
Judgment in additional to some documentary pieces chronicling
the history and future of the band over the years. Be sure to
check out the video for Broken Waves and keep an eye out for additional
releases in the near future.
All Age Performances this Weekend!
Be sure to check out the band this weekend! Rosemary Gates will
be at Miss Q's in Fort Wayne on Friday, June 27 at 9:30 PM. Miss
Q's is located on the corner of Dupont and Highway 3 North near
Huntertown. It is next to 4D's Bar & Grill. "The cool
thing about Miss Q's is that it is an ALL AGES Club. But fear
not, 21+ fans, Miss Q's still serves alcohol for your partying
pleasure.
On June 28 at 2:00 PM, the band will also be giving a special
in-store acoustic performance at Wooden Nickel at Times Corners
on Jefferson Blvd. This is an ALL AGES performance. "This
is a perfect opportunity for our younger fans to see us live,"
said bassist Bryan Bankson. "It is also a chance for older
fans to bring their kids out to see the band for the first time,"
added Bankson." "The band will be featuring songs from
the Whammy award winning album Myth & Judgment.

June Newsletter
Christian Is Back
A big "thank you" to all the friends that wrote and
sent their well wishes while Christian was recovering from a work
injury back in April. He has fully recovered and is back working
with the band and ready to play out again as soon as possible.
Summer Tour Dates
The band is happy to announce its Summer 2008 tour schedule. Among
the dates will be performances at C2G
Ministries in Fort Wayne on Saturday 6/21 (Summer Music Festival
with Pheen and Teay's Vein) and Friday Night Live at Jefferson
Point Mall, also in Fort Wayne on Friday 8/29.
"As much as we love the studio and the writing process,
we always look forward to the summer touring season," says
Michael Archbold, guitarist for the band. "Warm summer nights,
playing out, hanging with friends and family there is nothing
like it."
Several stops on the tour will be all age venues where younger
fans will be able to see the band. "We love playing venues
that allow us to play for the younger fans," added bassist
Bryan Bankson. "Most of the time it seems that the majority
of venues are 21+, but in recent years, there have been an explosion
of clubs that cater to younger fans. This is a great opportunity
to get our music out to the up-and-coming fans." All age
venues include C2C on 6/21, Miss Q's on 6/27 (18+ club), Wooden
Nickel on 6/28, and of course Jefferson Point on 8/29.
First Tracks Laid For New Album
The band is pleased to announce that the first tracks for the
new album have been laid this past week. "We are extremely
excited to begin the recording phase of the new album," stated
vocalist Christian Schult. "The recording studio is our second
home and we are glad to be back.
The band has also announced that it is planning new albums to
be released in both 2008 and 2009. Adds Archbold, "We originally
intended to write an all acoustic album for our new release, but
as the new music came pouring out, it quickly became apparent
that what we were writing demanded a larger pallet of instrumentation
than simply acoustic guitars. Instead of abandoning the idea of
an acoustic album, however, we decided to put an acoustic album
out this year which will include re-interpretations of RG classics
like "Horses" and "Burn." Next year (2009)
we will release a full rock album with all new material.
The acoustic album, due out this Fall, will include around a
dozen tracks, half of which will be new music and unreleased material.
The other half will be the aforementioned re-interpretations and
one or two covers. It will be completely self-produced by the
band at its King James recording studios in Fort Wayne.
Drummer John Tingley stated, "We began laying scratch tracks
for two unreleased RG songs, 'My Friends' and 'Tank'." We
will finish scratch tracks in the coming week and begin drum tracking
shortly there after.

Injury To Singer Forces Band Out of Sol Fest Lineup
Rosemary Gates regrets to inform its fans that the band has been
forced to drop out of the Sol Fest 2008 lineup due to an injury
to vocalist Christian Schult.
"Christian received second degree burns to his face and
arm this week in a work related injury," stated Michael Archbold,
guitarist for the band. "We have received word that Christian
is ok and will make a full recovery, however, the recovery time
needed will coincide with the scheduled Sol Fest 2008 Event at
Fox Island County Park in Fort Wayne."
The band states the injury will not interfere with other scheduled
events nor significantly affect production of the new album due
late 08 / early 09.
"We're just happy Christian is ok and wish him a speedy
recovery," added bassist Bryan Bankson. "Be sure to
send Christian your best. He will appreciate it very much."

Myth & Judgment Voted Best Local CD Release of 2007
Rosemary Gates is proud to announce that Myth & Judgment was
voted the best local CD release of 2007 by fans and readers of
local entertainment guide, WhatzUp Magazine.
We are extremely proud of this award," said guitarist Michael
Archbold. "Not only is it nice to be recognized for the hard
work and effort we put into this record, but we are especially
proud of it because it represents local ORIGINAL music. In recent
years, it seems, original music has taken a backseat to party
bands and cover tunes. Those things are fine and we have been
part of that scene in the past as well, but as artists, the true
joy for our band has been in writing and producing our own music.
Bassist Bryan Bankson adds, "You aren't anything unless you
are laying down your own grooves! We hold ourselves to the highest
standards of writing and producing music. We really dedicate ourselves
fully to that pursuit; even more so now than in the past."
In 2004, the band invested in its own record company and recording
studio; King James Records & Studio. This investment has enabled
the band to be more creative and eclectic in its musical pursuits.
Vocalist Christian Schult adds, "With us owning our own studio,
expect more frequent releases from the band."
Currently, Rosemary Gates has two projects under way including
a new studio album due out late 2008. The band is also working
on a video re-release of Myth & Judgment, which will include
a video presentation of the album, live performance material,
and interviews with the band.
Be sure to pick up a copy of Myth & Judgment at all local

Myth & Judgment Nominated for Whatzup Magazines
Best of 2007
Rosemary Gates is proud to announce the nomination of Myth &
Judgment as Whatzup Magazines Best Local CD Release of 2007.
We put a lot of effort into the disc and have been very
pleased with sales and the fan response. The icing on the cake
is being nominated for best local CD, said Michael Archbold,
guitarist for the band.
Nomination is step one. Now the band needs your help to win the
award. The Whammy award is given based on fan voting.
All you have to do is stop by your local Fort Wayne, IN, area
retailer and pick up a copy of Whatzup Magazine, fill out the

SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! Go to www.Whatzup.com
NOW and vote for Rosemary Gates Myth & Judgment, best
local CD release of 2007.
The New Album Well Under Way
The band has been working hard on the new album for the past
several months. Approximately twelve tracks are currently being
worked on some further along than others. We're taking
a little different approach with this record, said Archbold.
In the past we pretty much wrote songs as we toured and they developed
through live performances. Once we had 8 or ten songs, we recorded
them. This time is different. We are taking time off from touring
to write exclusively. The result is a wave of music flowing out
like never before. Bryan B-Funk Bankson added,
I won't be surprised if we end up with 20 or 30 songs before
its all said and done. This time, we will be picking the
best from the pool as opposed to recording like we did it in the
past.
The bands investment in King James Studios in Fort Wayne,
the bands private recording facility, has gone a long way
to fostering the creativity. In the past, if you wanted
a decent recording, even a demo, you had to go to a studio and
pay them $50-$80 an hour, said Christian Schult, vocalist
for the band. With our own studio, its no longer that
way. You can get together in the evening, put down a few beers,
and write to your hearts content. Theres no limitations
anymore.
The band is shooting for a Fall/Winter 2008 release date for
the yet-to-be-named album. Check back to www.RosemaryGates.com
for updates.
New Web Site in the Works
The band has announced that they have contracted Arson Digital
to redesign the bands Web site. The site is long overdue
for an overhaul, said Archbold. I've seen some of
the preliminary graphic design work that Corey Wilson and Steve
Howie of Arson Digital have put in and I am very impressed. The
band hopes to have the site up and running in the next couple
of months. Check back often for updates.

Rosemary Gates 2007
It has been a turbulent year for the members of Rosemary Gates.
December 2006 saw the release of their second full-length album,
Myth & Judgment. After a successful release party at Columbia
Street West, the boys decided to take some time off if not
to recuperate after a long two years in the studio, then out of
necessity.
"After the album release," stated Mike Archbold, producer
and guitarist, "our drummer situation became critical. Our
temporary replacement, Chuck Thomas (Jacob's Well, Migranes) decided
to move on. This left us in a position to find a permanent replacement.
After a few phone calls and some e-mails, Greg Titzer of the Migranes
introduced us to veteran Fort Wayne Drummer John Tingley (Scream
Machine). John was back in Fort Wayne after living the last several
years in Nashville. John came in, auditioned, and we pretty much
hired him right away. He was a great fit. A return to a more solid,
groove based drumming we have been missing for some time."
Added Archbold, "We are glad to have John on board. He has
the dedication and passion for original music that we do and look
forward to what he brings to the table."
The band has spent the last several months working John into
the lineup and working on new tunes. Dates have been booked for
the rest of 2007 including dates in Fort Wayne at Metea County
Park and the band's birthplace at Legends Sports Bar.
"We're looking forward to getting out and playing some dates.
We haven't had the chance for some time and are anxious to get
out and spend time with the fans again.
Upcoming dates include:
12/8/07 Dupont Bar & Grill Fort Wayne IN
10/27/07 Hill Haven Festival Jasper IN
10/20/07 Legends Sports Bar Fort Wayne IN
9/9/07 Metea County Park Fort Wayne IN

Rosemary Gates Prepares For the Release of Myth & Judgment
After five years in the making, independent rockers
Rosemary Gates are set to release their sophomore effort, Myth
& Judgment (King James Records) on Friday, December 8, 2006.
The band will be celebrating the release with a party at Columbia
Street West in Fort Wayne, IN, with special guest Sfumato.
Formed in 1996, Rosemary Gates are Fort Wayne Music scene veterans.
They exploded onto the scene in 2000 with the release of their
independent debut album Shine on King James Records. This led
to the band's first single, "Free," being released on
local radio. The success of "Free" in turn led to sizeable
record sales, 65 shows played, and record label attention (Universal,
J Records, Atlantic, Epic, among others), in addition to more
radio play in Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Atlanta, Houston,
and New Mexico. In 2006, Rosemary Gates continues to boast one
of the scene's most loyal followings.
Setting the Standard: Since the release of Shine in 2000, the
band has gone through a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows.
"When we released Shine back in 2000, we had no idea how
successful the record would be," said Michael Archbold, guitarist
for the band. "The radio play we received with our first
single 'Free' propelled us in ways we could not have expected.
All of the sudden we were selling out of CD's, every venue under
the sun contacted us, and then the record companies started calling,"
recalls Archbold. "By the summer of 2001, the band had sold
out of two pressings of the CD and a second single (Shining Rain)
was released to radio. In August we were approached by pop radio
station WMEE who had tested our song 'Fallen' on their station.
The song had done well enough that they planned to put it into
their rotation. We really felt at that time that having a third
single released on pop radio would put us over the top,"
Archbold added. On the verge of their third release from Shine
hitting the airwaves, world history unfolded on 9/11 and a change
of focus resulted. "Everything just stopped, and understandably
so" said Archbold. "It's just one of those things
you accept it for what it is. (MORE)

WHATS UP WITH THE NEW ALBUM????
We have recently fielded numerous questions regarding new music
and the status of our new album. Following is a post we made to
our discussion forum on the web site (www.rosemarygates.com) addressing
the issue for the fans:
The truth is that we have written and are in the process
of recording our second full length album right now. We are nearing
completion of the tracking phase and hope to be mixing and mastering
in December/January. This album was actually begun in the summer
of 2001, not more than half a year after the release of our first
album. But as circumstance would have it, our first album did
very well and garnered us a lot of attention from record labels
and clubs. Hence, the album was put on hold while we played in
support of Shine.
At the end of 2001, having played 65 shows and sold out of two
pressings of our album, the band was in burn out mode to say the
least. We also had to cope with the loss of a drummer and going
through the process of finding a replacement. 9/11 put an abrupt
end to any and all record label attention for obvious reasons.
Mike left the band to recuperate, while the rest of the guys slowed
things way down and played less than 10 shows in 02. In
2003, we began our gradual comeback to the music scene and have
been playing shows here and there ever since. It wasnt until
early this year (2005) that we decided to pick up and finish the
album we started 4 years earlier. Even that effort was nearly
de-railed by the departure of one of our guitarists, Jim Stocks.
But we have moved forward and are finally seeing the fruits of
our labor.
When we decided to pick up and finish the album, we said we could
approach this one of two ways: 1) do things quick and dirty and
get a new product to market or 2) take our time and produce the
absolute best album we could. Since we care deeply about our music,
we have chosen the latter. We know many of our friends and fans
have been anxious for us to get things done, but to be honest,
we have to satisfy ourselves first. None of us want to put out
a sub-par record. We promise that the new disc will be well worth
the wait.
As for Essentials, (many) will be less than thrilled to hear
that we have been selected for the disc with our song Horses
(because of the requests for new music). We initially wanted to
put out a new piece this year, but since the tracking process
has taken longer than expected, we just didnt have the song
mixed and mastered to the point that we could do it justice. We
contemplated not releasing a song this year, but ultimately decided
that putting out an old tune is preferable to nothing since we
will be releasing a new album in the next several months. Sorry
if that disappoints, but it is the best we have right now.
Anyway, we appreciate the patience of you and all our fans
were almost there. Hang in there!

ROSEMARY GATES TO BE FEATURED ON ESSENTIALS v9
Rosemary Gates is proud to announce that the bands song
Horses has been chosen to be included on this years
X102 Essentials Volume 9 a compilation disc of the best
in local music.
Initially we wanted to release a new tune from our upcoming
album due after the first of the year, but the track just wasnt
finished, said Michael Archbold, guitarist for the band.
Instead of foregoing a submission this year, we decided
to submit Horses, which has been a fan favorite for
many years. We dedicate this song to our friends and fans that
have been there for us through thick and thin.

Rosemary Gates LIVE on X102's The Morning X with Hammer &
JJ
Chris and Mike appeared on X102's The Morning X with Hammer &
JJ on Tuesday 7/12. The boys talked about current events with
the band including the progress of the second album and the weekend's
show at the Three Rivers Festival Meijer Event Tent with the Mike
Conley Band and Plow.
"As always, Hammer and JJ were gracious hosts, although
we didn't get the message that the interview had been moved from
Headwaters Park back to the X Studios because of weather concerns,"
Mike joked. "They are both staunch supporters of the band
and local music in general. It is always fun dropping by the studio
to say hi."
The boys also had the opportunity to play a live cut, live on
the air. "After some debate, we decided to go with Horses,"
said Christian. "We were going to pick one of the tunes off
the new record, but thought it better to save those until completion
of the album."

Rosemary Gates Invited to Play the Main Stage at the Three Rivers
Festival
Rosemary Gates is proud to announce that the band has been invited
to play the Three Rivers Festival Meijer Event Tent on Saturday,
July 16, 2005. The show starts at 6:00 PM with the Mike Conley
Band (featuring RGs own B-Funk on bass guitar). RG will
take the stage at 8:30 PM and rock until 10:00 PM. Heavy rockers,
Plow will finish the night off starting at 10:30 PM.
We are very excited about playing this years festival,
said guitarist Mike Archbold. We have kind of been hanging
low the last few years while working on our new album. With the
record due out this Fall, we thought it would be a great opportunity
to play the Festival again, and get some of our new music out
there for people to listen to. We are also very excited to be
playing with two of Fort Waynes hottest acts, the Mike Conley
Band and Plow. Mikes act is top notch and I love (Plow Guitarist)
Eric Baers hard edge guitar playing. It should be a great
night for Fort Wayne Rock!
Those attending the show will notice a slight change in lineup
for the performance. Chuck Thomas (Rudisill, The Migranes, Nami
Su) will be sitting in for Charley Shirmeyer. It seems that Charley
will be welcoming his newborn son, Stephan Phillip, on and around
the show date. Chuck has sat in with the band on occasion, most
recently at the 2004 Sol Fest performance at Fox Island County
Park. Chuck is a talented drummer and is a quick study,
stated Archbold. As much as we would like to have Charley
up there with us on Saturday, we feel very comfortable in Chucks
ability to pull us through.

RG Complete Musical Catalog Available for FREE Download (Limited
Time Only)
In anticipation of the completion of Rosemary Gates second full
length album this Fall, the band has decided to make their entire
musical catalog available for download in MP3 format, ABSOLUTELY
FREE!
"With Shine currently out-of-print and a renewed interest
in Rosemary Gates music, it just seemed like the right thing to
do," said Mike Archbold, guitarist for the band. "After
playing 65 shows in 2001 and selling out of our debit album Shine,
the band took some time off to recuperate. Obviously the demand
for our music began to cool. But with the band re-united for the
last 2 years and our playing out regularly, the demand for our
music has once again risen. This is our way to not only meet current
demand for RG music, but also say THANK YOU to all of our fans
that have been with us through thick and thin these last 9 years."

Thanks For Coming Out
Rosemary Gates would like to thank everyone for coming out to
Fox Islands Sol Fest 2005 last weekend. The event was a
complete success. According to Christian Schult (RG Front Man
and Events coordinator at Fox Island), the event has grown in
size every year since its inception and they reached record levels
of attendance once again this year.
We also want to thank everyone for coming out and seeing Jim
off. For those who have not heard or who have been living in a
vacuum for the last four weeks, founding guitarist Jim Stocks
is moving on form the band. Last Saturdays Fox Island show
was Jims last performance with the band. Thanks again, Jim,
for all the hard work and dedication you put in over the last
9 ½ years to this band. It was and is successful because
of your contributions. We love you.
May
Mini-Marathon
May will be a pseudo BIG month for the boys. We have
already played Fox Islands Sol Fest last Saturday, May 7.
We will be in Decatur this Saturday, May 14, at the Skybox Bar
and Grille. Skybox is located on Decaturs north side off
of US 27 South as you enter Decatur from Fort Wayne. We cant
wait to make our return to Decatur after a nearly 4 year hiatus.
The band will return to Fort Wayne on May 28 for our monthly
performance at Columbia Street West on the Landing downtown. Hope
to see YOU out and about in the month of MAY

A Sad Day Indeed
Rosemary Gates is sad to announce the departure of guitarist
and founding member Jim Stock from Rosemary Gates. Jim was tantamount
to the formation and the evolution of Rosemary Gates since its
beginning in 1996. I will miss him very much, commented
co-guitarist Mike Archbold. Jim and I have always had a
special connection as guitarists. Most guitarists are very competitive
and constantly bump heads in trying to establish dominance in
a band. It was never that way for us EVER. From day one
when I joined the band in 98 we hit it off musically and
never detracted from each other. On the contrary I think
the combination of our instruments gave RG the PHAT sound that
many local bands lack. Jim is my brother and I will miss him much
It sounds like Jim will kick back and enjoy life a little after
9+ years in a working band. Look for him out cruising on the Harley
and trying his hand at other musical opportunities. WE WILL MISS
YOU BROTHER!!!!!!!!!
Moving
On, Moving Forward
So what does Jims departure mean for the rest of the band?
Charley, B, Mike, and Chris have decided to carry on as a four-piece.
It will be business as usual for the guys as summer gigs have
been booked and we have a full slate of shows lined up for your
ROCK N ROLL pleasure.
The band is also well into the recording process for their follow
up to the 2000 debut album Shine. Drum and bass tracks are complete
and guitars are being tracked. The boys will be in the studio
this Sunday laying acoustic tracks. Check the Web site often for
pictures and sound bytes.

RG Back in the Studio
RG is back in the studio recording the follow up to their 2000
Debut Shine. Drum and bass tracks are complete and they are preparing
to record guitars and vocals in the coming weeks. The band recorded
drum and bass tracks at Neal Parnins Ozone Recording Company
in Fort Wayne. Although no release date has been set, the band
is anticipating a Fall/Winter release.
We are extremely excited about getting back into the studio,
commented Mike Archbold, guitarist. We really feel at home
in the studio environment. We are also excited because we have
invested in our own studio and will record much of the project
on our own equipment. Although the initial investment is costly,
we feel that it will allow us to be able to record and create
at our own pace with no outside distractions.
The rest of the album will be recorded at the bands new
King James Studio in Fort Wayne. However, the band will leave
the mixing and mastering duties to Ozone Recording. Although
we are operating out of our own studio now, we still want Neal
(Parnin of Ozone) to handle mixing and mastering. Neal has the
best ears in Northern Indiana. We wouldnt trust the final
sound of our music with anyone else.
Be sure to visit the Web site often for updates and news.
